The Fourteenth Street School is a school that melds rich traditions with current best practices. Built in 1960 as part of Dow Air Force Base, the school has undergone many transitions over the years. It has served as a senior center, a parks and recreation center, and of course, it is currently the home of one of the Bangor School Department’s 5 elementary schools. The Fourteenth Street School serves students in grades K-3 and offers a 1/2 day Four Year Old Program.
The students and staff of the Fourteenth Street School embrace the concepts and ideals articulated in the Bangor School Department’s Strategic Plan Academic Excellence for All. A veteran staff with an average of 20+ teaching years of experience work closely together to ensure that every child makes continual progress.
